Keyworth is a large village located about 6 miles southeast of Nottingham. The main shopping precinct hosts an array of facilities including a post office, pharmacy, small supermarkets, convenience stores, hairdressers, newsagents, butchers, dry-cleaners, florists, restaurants and takeaways. Keyworth is home to the headquarters of the British Geological Survey as well as a large NHS health centre.

Keyworth also has its own library and leisure centre both with programs of events.

Keyworth operates a regular bus service to Nottingham via Plumtree, Tollerton, Edwalton and West Bridgford, from early in the morning until around midnight.

The South Wolds Academy & Sixth Form is a Secondary School and Sixth Form with academy status located in Keyworth. There are also several popular primary schools in the village.

With an excellent community spirit the village holds its annual Keyworth Show each summer as well as The Keyworth Turkey Trot – a half-marathon road race which has been held annually since 1983. The village annual quiz also has great community support.

Keyworth United Football Club and Keyworth Cricket Club both play a large role in the community with many families having a connection to at least one of the clubs.

It is a bustling village with a real community feel with lots of different local groups, from Scouting to Photography along with the popular WI.
